Dry yeast replacement for Edme?

I used to do a fair amount of all grain brewing. I stopped for a couple of years, and decided to resume the hobby recently. I always used Edme dry yeast, and had good luck with it. As you may know, Edme is no longer made. I tried a replacement dry yeast recommended by the local shop, and found it too active for my tastes. By the time I got the wort out of the primary, the yeast had already begun to eat itself, leaving that awful rubbery taste. So, my question -- for someone like me, who doesn't want to spend much time worrying about the yeast, what is a good substitute for Edme? I want a yeast that won't turn every last molecule of sugar to alcohol, and that has essentially a neutral flavor of its own. TIA

Tom, Use SafBrew S33. It is the original Edme with a new package and name. You can get it many places including

to start things off.

I've used nottinghams dry yeast with good results, although I like a dryer ale. Never noticed a rubbery taste.
