Just try the 10yr springbank. It's the best I've tried ( I found the 12yr bourbon wood / 12 125rh anniversary and the 15yr old less appealing). But if you like also Islay whiskies... why not try a Longrow? (same distillery... better whisky... imho ofcourse...)

Yes Longrow is produced in the same distillery,. it's usually more peaty than Springbank, which is itself considered by many to be the finest of all malts, and is certainly one of my favourites. Springbank has its own bottling plants, and also owns Cadenheads the independent bottlers, which is why Springbank turns up in a variety of different casks. My own personal Springbank favourite was matured in a rum cask (bottle long since empty). I understand that quite a lot of Longrow has been produced and is currently maturing in barrels. The bottlings of this are awaited with great anticipation.
