Can somebody recommend a good whisky/single malt store in Cologne/Germany?

Thanks!

Neil

There is a Cadenhead-shop in Cologne-Sülz. More information are available at

Great, thanks!

I found out on their website they are also offering tastings - have you been there, Andreas? What is the atmosphere like during these events, what kind of people are attending the tastings at that shop? Can you rate the quality of the speakers?

Neil

Looks interesting! Thanks, Hans Henrik.

Comparing to the Cadenhead's shop it seems a little bit more expensive.

They are also offering private tastings - anybody here who already did that at their place?

Neil

Neil -

I'm not Andreas, but thought I'd jump in here. I know the folks at the shop in Cologne quite well and have been to many of their tastings. The shop itself is small, so the tastings are held next door in a cafe. The setting is comfortable, the fellow who usually conducts them knows his whisky well, and the bottlings are often ones you won't find elsewhere. They also usually conduct one soon after Cadenhead's does a new release, so you get a shot at trying some of the very new bottlings. And let's not forget the buffet the shop's proprietor puts on, either . All in all, I'd highly recommend attending. A caution, though - the tastings are conducted in German.

Cheers, Jay

Never been there but once met the guys running that shop. The guys were ok, so the shop you must try yourself.
