My understanding is that it is a private bottling of an unidentified highland malt. see link
Hi Steffen
It's whisky from Benrinnes Distillery, which is a Speyside distillery - so it's not really a Highland Malt at all...
The story is that Tim Morrison (previously with Morrison Bowmre) bought the rights to the Stronachie name (it used to be a distillery in South Perthshire, but was closed in 1928). He then went about to purchase a bottle of original Stronachie (a 12 year old from 1904, one in three that were know to exist) in auction, and tried to find a a malt of today that was more or less identical.
In his own words he trawled the country sampling hundreds of casks, before luckily he found a cask in his own warehouse that was useable, and this was a 12 year old Benrinnes.
