2000 Bouscassé

Apr 28, 2011 0 Replies

I came across this a few nights ago and decided to open it. I bought it 6-7 years ago as part of a job lot of sale wines from a shop to which I have never returned (the French assistant was amazingly ignorant, and there selection not very good). This wine is 100% Tannat, vielles vignes. Nose of ripe plum. Tannins muted/resolved but some residual acid. Very meaty with small black fruit/plum notes and longish. What was impressive was the color - deep and intense almost a "black wine". I wish I had more!!
