Back in Ohio for a few days to work on taxes and such so I met a friend for a glass of wine and snacks. I ordered crispy veal sweetbreads with mustard sauce and an escargot and mushroom pate. We had a bottle of 2004 Morey Coffinet Chassagne Montrachet Morgeot (pinot noir) to drink. The wine was medium garnet with just a hont of brick at the rim. Plenty of earthy mushroom notes on the nose with a bit of wet limestone and bright cherry. A biot acidic at first but after about 30 minutes the wine opened and became balanced with plenty of red fruits and earthy notes. A tad rustic and just slightly "green" but overall a decent bottle for a fair price $53 USD. Solid "B"
