An amazing Latour tasting

This was posted to another wine group. An absolutely amazing evening of blind tasting at Latour.

It was a bit disappointing. I would have liked to have heard the opinions of some of the other guests. It looked like Jancis Robinson was there.

This was apparently shot for Suckling's pay website (from context I think Latour let him film, to pump up some lots they are releasing for auction- obviously in HK), so not really surprising he didn't want to feature a competitor.

A few thoughts: based on other old cellar, surprised that all of the bottles seemed to have labels.

I was surprised at way some were moving about the old wines, most serious folks I know try not to disturb sediment.

Suckling put the cap on the decanter so '45 didn't get too much air. Maybe Dr. Lipton can tell me I'm wrong, but I would think that compared to putting it in a decanter with a lot of exposed surface, the plug would have minimal effect.

Despite all of that (and the machine spouting of aromas) Suckling was less obnoxious that in some videos I've seen. He seemed to really love wine and its history. The China rep for Christies, too. The young HK was a bit pretentious/ I thought Fred. Engerer came off well.
