Hello; Yesterday I received an e-mail from my Danish cavist, Kjaer og Sommerfeldt - telling me that they are opting out of the En primeur Bordeaux 2004. Reason: too much wine, too mediocre quality, prices going down, not a good idea economically (if, as self never does, you think in terms of speculating in/on[1] the wine futures market). I wasn´t seriously contemplating buying into en primeur wines (reason being, my economy is a bit strained, and, what I try to buy these days are _old_ wines, not wines to be left sleeping for 10 years), but, nevertheless, I would appreciate the thoughts of those more knowledgable. What say the Bordoeaux fans: will 2004 be a buyer´s market? And will it be so-so quality-wise?
Cheers!
Nils Gustaf
[1] Forgive the foreign gentleman - do you speculate IN or ON a market? On sounds more natural to me, but that is because it would be the ltieral translation ...
