Fine Fine Wine Recommendation

Working on a story and need to come up with two kinds of wine -- and information or pointers to where I can find it.

(1) Some extremely fine, rare wine that would be tough to find -- something prized to win at a contest of very wealthy (very) people. The keys are rare and sought after. Red is a plus.

(2) If the above is A++++, this would be more of an A wine. It is something someone would serve to a group of 5 or 6 people to impress them -- something most wine people would drool over, although not in the same league as 1.

Thanks so much for your responses.

While I love the idea of DRC RC, etc... I have two new world suggestions:

1) Screaming Eagle '99 mag. (but I prefer 99s to 97s) 2) A Marcassin Pinot

Just wanted to pop back in to thank everybody for the continuing thread. I'm doing a bit of research on the suggestions and, if anybody's interested (and this includes the publisher) I'll be happy to note where the finished story can be found.

Thanks and feel free to continue!

Assuming that the story is set in the present, your first wine could be a 1929 Leoville Poyferre or an 1870 Lafite from the Glammis castle collection. The second wine could be any of the top 1982s: Mouton or Pichon Lalande would do nicely.
