Marinus update

No longer wondering about drinking the Marinus,

Deep deep red with no brown on the edges. very heavy legs, intense bouquet with a minty soft tannin after taste which went away leaving a soft wine with cherry red fruit flavors but like the wine itself deep and full.

My wife instantly recognized this as not your ordinary every day wine! We had Filet Mignon, sugar snap peas, and Lyonaise potatoes (it wasn't all for her, I love Lyonaise potatoes)

this wine was a gift several years ago from a friend who knew my taste in wine and well he was right even if I don't drink a lot of CA Cabs, this blend was right up my ally. Now if only I could get some more for the same price :-)

What year was the Marinus? I have the '95, '96 and ''97 and prefer the '96 although I find all of them to be tasty, rich and fruit forward without being over the top.

It was a 95 and good right down to the expected sediment when I poured the last ounce ;-)
