If you have the time try and go up the river. You take a touristic boat at the south side of the river (Gaia) it will take you up the river to Peso da Régua. Will have a visit and taste to cellars of porto wine, and come back by train.
Just amazing.
Also if you're a lover of Porto wine, go to visit some cellars in Gaia, just across the bridge.
