Quality of Brundlmayer Sekt Brut 2002 (Kremstal, Austria) ?

Has anyone had Brundlmayer Sekt Brut 2002 (Kremstal, Austria) or read a review of it? I have located some at about US$32 per bottle and have never had a quality Austrian sparkling wine. I know Brundlmayer is one of the top producers of several Austrian wines and has a good reputation in general for Sekt. However I know nothing about the specific Sekt I mention here. While much Sekt exported from both Germany and Austria in the past was at best a cheap commercial wine, there have long been a few very good examples that often are difficult to find in many countries.

I have not tried the '02, but I can say that the '04 was lovely.

I do know that the Falstaff wine gave the '02 92 points, for what it's worth.

cheers, e.

Thanks for the information. I think I will try a bottle soon, if it is still available. I live in a state to which many stores in other states will not ship, so finding a source of some wines can require quite a bit of effort. One can obtain some wines and spirits from Europe from stores there using express air delivery. However the extreme cost of air express makes this practical only for a very few bottles of special wines or spirits.

Check out the website of the SWRA:

They are actually taking the fight for the direct shipment of alcohol to those states where it is still prohibited. And they are having some successes.
