So we got a dehumidifer. I'm not TOO worried about this, my guess is that with
a mid-knob setting it's not suddenly going to become Arizona-dry down there.Is just special paint on blueboard good,
or should I use a sheet of plastic?<
No and yes. Special paint is throwing money away and is ineffective. For walls, fir the wall at 16" apart, then apply a visqueen vapor barrier "over" the firring strips, but "under" the blueboard or really greenrock is sufficient.
For floors, lay the visqueen right on top of the concrete, then mount your fir strips or 2x4's on the flat (wide side) at 12" apart "on top" of the plastic to the floor, followed by underlayment and final floor.
