Tarra Yarra

Anyone know of a US source for Tarra Yarra Chardonnay?

Sorry, but I'm not familiar with Tarra Yarra Chardonnay. The closest that I can come is Penfold's Yattarna, which is the "white" equivalent to their Grange (nee Hermitage). It is always in limited supply around AZ/US, and I only find it about every other vintage.

OK, Tarra Yarra seems to come from Cape Point Winery, in the Yarra Valley, OZ. It seems that they make two Chards, but I did not find any link to a US distributor. In PHX, we have an OZ-only wine shop, Red Kangaroo, and on my next trip will attempt to find out about US distribution.

I think you'll find Cape Point is a South African Winery.

Is the wine OP is looking for actually Tarrawarra Estate Chardonnay which is a Yarra Valley Australia wine?

If so, look at winesearcher.com and you should get some sources (try tarrawarra and tarra warra).

Thanks, Keith. Perhaps with the right name I'll have better luck.

Yes, their origin is SA, but it seems that the Yarra Valley project might be, either a joint-venture, or they are branching out. The single article was not much help, as it appeared to assume that the reader (in this case, me) knew all about the winery. Now, I have not gotten out my SA Atlas and searched the Cape for a Yarra Valley, but a few vague references seemed to indicate that this project was in fact in OZ - maybe I missed something.

Perhaps you mean Tarra Warra.... who produce a range of wines, including a great QPR range label called Tin Cow.

Hooroo....
