Bass xxxx?

Can someone explain... what is draught "Bass XXXX" ?

Is this real ale draught Bass the way it used to be, or what? I recently drank this in a club and it was very nice tasting.

Used to be a dark mild brewed at Bass' Tadcaster brewery (now closed, I think). No longer available as a real ale, AFAIK.

I thought it was one of the occasional products from the bass brewery museum plant.

IIRC word had it that the current owners were putting money into this having discovered that the real worth of what they had was in old recipes that they weren't doing anything with...

Further to the post. The lady who served it to me, didn't seem to know much about it, and come to think on it further, I can't even be certain that the tasty stuff in the glass related to the label I read on the pump.

Thanks, I'll try and find out more from the source.
