Hyde's "secret" beer, XXXX, back on sale

My chums in the Slumley and South Grotley branch of CAMRA tell me that Hyde's XXXX is back on sale, for a short time only.

This is a long-standing favourite strong ale (6.8 per cent) but is very rarely made available in draught form. However, a limited volume of this classic beer is available in some Hyde's pubs this week. It has been spotted at the Victoria in Withington and also at the Nursery, Heaton Norris. It should also be available at the National Winter Ales Festival in Manchester in two weeks' time.

Hyde's are famously secretive about XXXX and its availability and location. The beer is extremely rare and drinkers cannot predict where or when (if at all) it will appear. It is never advertised - if it was it just wouldn't be Hydes XXXX.

Do seek out this classic beer and drink it when you can. Hyde's would like to ditch XXXX because it does not match their modern portfolio. We won't know what we've got till it's gone.
