I'm going to be in Central Gothenburg, Sweden, next week. Is there anywhere to get a decent beer? Brewpub perhaps, or is that asking too much...

The Rover - it does beers from Swedish micros, as well as real ales from a couple of English micros, when I can get them in there. You'll certainly find beers from Nynaeshamn in there, and if you're very lucky, you might find some of Dave Jones' wonderful Jaemtlands beers, too.
(Sorry, can't recall the address offhand - ask when you get there).
Skal!

Hold down the alt key, type 148 on the number pad, then release the alt key.

The "asking too much" will be done by the barman, if my experience of drinking in Sweden is anything to go by. :-)

Thanks, Cliff.
Is there somewhere I can get a list of the alt+ codes?
If you are using Windoze you can easily have your keyboard set to type in several countries types. You can switch between them just by hitting a button on the bottom bar. I use Danish sometimes & it works well. (You need to print a copy of the countries keyboard so you know the key to use) You set it up on the control panel/keyboard settings.

No prob!
For the letters you need in the major European languages:
Funnily enough, I can't seem to find an alt+number code for the c with a little v denting its top (to use the technical parlance!) which occurs in Czech and other central/east European languages.
Try and scroll down.
