Bottled beers, any recommendations?

I'd second the vote for the excellent Oxford Bottled Beer database. I don't know about new, but here are some different beers that I've particularly enjoyed. Not sure on general availability, as I'm lucky enough to have a specialist beer shop five minutes walk away :) The number in brackets is the beerid in the OBBD -

I think this is the same one, but the label has changed] O'Hanlon's: Thomas Hardy's Ale[1134]

The Black Chocolate Stout and Winter Welcome are seasonal, though I guess there will be stocks around for a bit. As you might have gathered, I'm partial to stouts and strong beers - the Kasteel is more like a port or Madiera than a beer, but I'm not complaining. Thomas Hardy's Ale is about the most different beer I've tried. The OBBD review refers to earlier vintages when the brand was brewed by Eldridge Pope, and I've not sampled one that early :( so I can't offer a comparison. Well worth a try.

Morrison's have Riggwelter, Summer Lightning and the Duchy Organic on offer @ 4bottles for £5, if you have a branch near you. Regards, Martin

Darwin "Rolling Hitch" IPA - 5.2% abv (from Asda) (and others!).

Titanic Stout is an excellent bottled beer, with less carbonation than most. Bottle conditioned and great for sipping on a cold winter's night. I believe lots of Sainsburys branches are stocking it at the moment.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I went out searching today, and found hardly any names from the suggestions! I managed to get a Titanic Stout and a Hop Back Taiphoon. I'll let you know how i got on! I also got the Meantime Coffee and Chocolate beers from Sainsbury's the other day. The coffee one is lovely, really strong coffee taste, hardly a beer at all really, just cold strong coffee! Worth a try though. Thanks again,
