Newcastle pubs and rugby

I apologise for being a little bit off topic - but does anyone know of any pubs in Newcastle that are opening for the World Cup rugby final on Saturday?

Is that upon-Tyne, under-Lyme or Emlyn?

Sorry to hijack the thread but: we're having difficulty finding a pub with decent RA that will be open *and* actually selling beer in Leicester. I imaging there might be similar problems across the country. It amazes me that 10000 pubs have extensions yet I can't find one worth travelling to in a city centre!

So, if you know where these rare beasts are please post them.

Fair point, Peter! I was referring to Newcastle upon Tyne.

Or of course, if you wanted to be even sillier, NSW??

Not pedantic at all.

And sends out a humbling message to all the arrogant Geordies who think that their sorry little toon is the centre of the known universe.

I imagine Newcastle, New South Wales might be one of the most atmospheric places to watch the match in a bar. No real ale, though :-(

Try The Lonsdale in West Jesmond - doors open 8.30am. Directors, Theakstons and a guest beer (Youngs IPA last week).

You could also try The Hotspur, near the Haymarket, they usually show all the big matches.
