The former GBG and Pub of the Year winning Peacock Inn at Forhill, Worcestershire which lies close to the Birmingham border has reopened after an extended period of closure. Fully refurbished as a "Chef and Brewer" the interior has been done up without spoiling the layout. The public bar along with the tiled floor remains though everything is much smarter with candles on every table. A big improvement is the removal of dining only areas though food is served throughout. Beers are Enville Ale, Hobsons BB and Pedigree plus two guests (Eagle IPA and Cains on my last visit). The sting however comes in the prices...
Eagle IPA 3.6% £2.12 Pedigree 4.5% £2.40 Cains FA 5% £2.56 Enville Ale 4.5% £2.40 Hobsons BB 3.8% £2.24
No doubt a bargain for some here but much higher than the local average including the GBG listed Coach & Horses down the road (Weatheroak Ales).
