Peacock Reopens

Loading thread data ...

I have fond memories of an afternoon my wife and I spent at the Peacock back in 1999. We were heading from Horndean to Cambridge for the beer festival in May that year. I decided we would take a convoluted way of getting there so that we could check out the pub of the year. When we arrived we almost immediately struck up conversation with some locals. We had a lovely afternoon of pints, food and chatting (there was even a black dog who did tricks). One of the locals was even nice enough to let us follow him home and gave us directions from there to get to our accomodations that night (the Forrest Hotel in Dorridge, West Midlands).

In fact thank you very much Bret as it was your posting to the group then that tipped me off to the Peacock.

P.S. Has the Forrest Hotel gone downhill? It's no longer listed in the GBG. Had great pints of Bass the night I stayed there but it was way too smokey for my wife.

Dogs are now banned from the "bar" and also the garden as well!

Sorry Bruce, the only Forrest I know, lies at junction 1 of the M42 and has never been in the GBG.
