Pub reopenings (Cheshire/Derbyshire)

Apr 28, 2005 0 Replies

Some time ago I lamented the passing of the Shady Oak (Fernilee, Derbys) and the Vale Inn (Adlington Road, Bollington, Cheshire).

The Shady Oak reopened a few months ago after a revamp, although I haven't been in there.

The Vale Inn has also reopened with enthusiastic new licensees. We went last Friday, and they had superb Landlord and Silk Amnesia (Storm - Macclesfield), served without sparklers and brim measures. They are also now doing food. Give them your support - they deserve it!

Also, the Swan in Kettleshulme (Cheshire) has reopened after the previous licensees attempted to sell it as a private residence, and it was bought by a local consortium. We plan to visit it very soon. If we do, I'll report back. Our MP Nick Winterton thinks it's a good idea ;-)
