Tamworth Pubs

I'm considering venturing to the Tamworth beer festival this weekend. Are there any decent pubs in Tamworth, close to the station or festival venue? Last time I went to Tamworth the place was full of M&B, Banks's and Marston's, though it was a wee while ago.

Of the supposed 90 beers at this festival almost a quarter are from Church End's novelty beer range. Is this a record?

  1. No, it's not a record. I've seen festivals with larger proportions dedicated to a local brewery.
  2. The volumes of the specials tend to be smaller so the overall proportion of the beer at the festival is less than would be imagined.
  3. Most of the Church End brewery products are quite novel (in that they tend to have distinct flavour differences)
  4. Before anyone asks I don't work for them, nor do I have any connection with the Tamworth branch.
