Vaults, Leicester

I've just heard from a reliable source that the Vaults in Leicester is closing this weekend. It's probably the best pub in town. Does anyone know the full story? Will it be reopening?

Thanks, Lee.

Owner has decided to convert to trendy bar of some description, doubtful if there will be much real ale if any. Particularly sad for me as this cuts the number of outlets for real cider in the city by 50%

Remind me where the pub is - is that the one down Church Gate from the Clock Tower and on the left up a side street or has my memory failed? Ewan

Wellington Street. Top of Market Street and straight across the lights.

If you're planning a last trip before it closes do it before the weekend. The last day (Sunday) will be regulars only mainly because of the 175 person fire limit. Saturday *may* have restricted entry, I'm having a little trouble remembering through the hangover. If travelling call ahead to check.

Hopefully Paul & Jude will find a new pub quickly. One with a real cellar and access to sunlight ;)
