Walsall - pub accomodation?

I'll be in Walsall in a few weeks. I've been trawling through some hotel sites but most of the time it's the usual story -- naff furniture, staff in silly waistcoats, wallpaper from the set of Abigail's Party, international industrial lager in the bar.
So I was wondering if anyone here might know of a pub or inn which does real ale and accomodation in the town. It'd be much better to sink a few pints and then only have to climb the wooden hill. We haven't got much of a budget -- c.50 quid a night -- but we might possibly extend that a bit for somewhere really nice.
I'll be doing quite long days and I don't drive, so ideally, it wouldn't be too far from the centre of Walsall.
Thanks
Cliff

It's a hotel, but it does have six cask ale lines in their bar. It is a little above your limit for double occupancy in an en-suite budget = room at =A359.50. >=20 > I'll be doing quite long days and I don't drive, so ideally, it wouldn't >=20 > be too far from the centre of Walsall. >=20 >=20 >=20 > Thanks >=20 >=20 >=20 > Cliff >=20 >=20 >=20 > --=20 >=20 > Crap Soul Lyrics, no.2 in an infinite series >=20 >=20 >=20 > Could it be the big brown eyes,=20 >=20 > the sexy thighs >=20 > Let me ride >=20 >=20 >=20 > Koffee Brown - I Didn't Mean to Turn You On=20 >=20 > (Mars / Venus, 2001)

Great to hear it. Let me know if it's any good. As a time-waster, I work up= pub crawls (generally anchored by a pub with accommodation, or a hotel wit= h cask ale) for most of the towns and cities of Britain, in anticipation of= the next time I can afford to pop across the pond. It would be nice to kno= w if any of my picks work out.
