What a find today. Found it today at Costco in North Carolina for $29.00.

Has anyone tried this vintage. I hear this is good stuff. At the local price at Costco I plan to wipe out their inventory of 8 bottles.

Amazing,

finally a Bordeaux I can comment on. I tasted it a few months ago, along with other 2000 and it was one of the stars of the night:

Dark cherry red. Decanted for 4 hours. Medium intensity in the nose, mineral notes and still austere. Swirling the wine in the glass, blackberries marmalade, some grilled bacon (!), some chocolate and toasted notes. Not so astringent in the mouth, good acidity with enough fruit and structure.

I won't comment on the expected maturity of this wine, but I don't think you would enjoy it that much in its actual shape. BTW, $29 is an excellent price, we paid 69 eur for a bottle.

Best,

Santiago

Yes. Even with 4 hours breathing in a big decanter, the wine showed hermetic and austere a few months ago. At 29$, I would buy the 8 bottles and drink them with a two years period between them.

Best,

Santiago

Dick, I thought you were through buying wines you might not live to drink! ;)
