I roasted a couple of pheasants last night with fingerlings and carrots and I rummaged around in the cellar at my farm and found a bottle of 2000 Isole e Olena Cepparello. The wine is 100% sangiovese from the Chanti Classico region. Nice balance of fruit and acid, cherry, leather and a bit of smoke on the palate. Not a bad match with the wild birds. "B+"
