2004 Ch du Champs des Treiles,Le Petit Champs

Sainte Foy Bordeaux. Heck of a long name for a 11.99US wine! Deep color of garnet. faint nose, cherries (but not Burgundy cherry) bright red fruit none the less. Clean. My pork roast will approve. Most of all I have suceeded in an inexpensive wine for dinner when some of the guest think a dirty martini is an appropriate dinner beverage.

(I am still drinking the Dom du Viking with some foie gras du canard, but now you know why I am leaving the better Burgundy in the cellar for some other Open that bottle night!)

The dom du viking was excellent as I had imagined, honey and pear thick and just a little grapy on the finish, loved by all.

the Bordeaux was better than I had imagined it would be. A B or better on that sort of scale. And a solid A for achievement. A good night.
