Not sure of it's representative or not, but one of the *very* few whites that I drank and enjoyed in Greece on holiday that was just as enjoyable at home [1] was from Domaine Spiropoulos - I think Mantinia was the name - perfectly suited for drinking in the garden of a Greek clifftop restaurant with fresh bread, tzatziki and greek salad while the sun set between the islands in the distance. Citrus fruits, high acididy - perfect for the end of a long day's lounging around in the sun - and an organic wine to boot. My local wine shop was selling it last year for about GBP4.50 (EUR6 or so)

Try searching for Kourtaki as a producer and Amethystos as a brand - these are widely available in most Greek tourist and local supermarkets and just about every restaurant. Probably more representative of the day-to-day plonk that gets drunk by everybody.

I found a couple of UK and USAan sites for these, but no luck finding a Spanish site.

Regards, Bill.

[1] Most wines I drink on holiday are enjoyable enough while I'm there but almost invariably make me wonder what the hell I was thinking of when I find a bottle of it here to try. I don't bring it home with me 'cos I can't look after it for the journey.
