Palandri & Boundary Road wines

I recently discovered this group of budget wines from Australia at a tasting event. For wines that sell at US$10-$12, they seem to be a rather solid, approachable, pleasant group of offerings. The best, I thought, were the Cab, Cab/Merlot, Merlot, Shiraz, Sauv Blanc, and an unoaked Chard.

A friend has told me that this winery (Palandri) had saturated parts of the US market (at the chain food market level) a few years back and was now trying to re-enter. I don't know about that, just that the wines seemed to be very drinkable for the price. Anyone familiar with these?

It fills the bill as a table wine. Nothing exceptional.
