The Best Wine Book

I highly recommend the wine book that I like it. It is very useful for wine lovers. "The Oxford Companion To Wine" by Jancis Robinson

I'll second that. It's an excellent reference.

Any thoughts for a good book on wine pairings - one that deals more with the fundamentals (without being elementary) rather than specific wineries and vintages (which I won't have on hand) for specific dishes (that's I'm not cooking).

I'm more interested in the how and why, so that I can make good decisions in unfamiliar situations.
