Pronounce like "vohn"
The combination OS is an archaic form, the S usually having disappeared and being replaced by the circumflex accent on the O (it would have become "vône" if spelling rules were consistent). Think of "hôtel", it would have anciently been "hostel", like the english word (well, english but borrowed from the french...).
