The medical wonders of wine

I heard that out on the west coast, in an area that primarily produces Pinot Gris and Pinot Grigio, they have produced a new hybrid grape that acts as a diuretic and will reduce the number of trips an older man has to make to the bathroom during the night. They will be marketing the new wine it as Pinot More.

I thank Garrison Keeler for this bit of news.

hmmm....a diuretic huh.....well, just incase you didnt know, a diuretic is something that causes the liquid to flow through your body. People normally use diuretics to lower blood pressure and in weight loss. It flushes excess "water" weight. But to do this, you have to consume more liquid (most people use water).

Joe, I think you missed the humor of the post. And - I believe that liquids such as coffee, tea and alcoholic beverages actually are more diuretic than plain water.

Ha ha. I missed it too Joe. Don't feel bad. Jokes are so much more funny once people explain them to me.

I think i'll live for another day....But, he was right in the fact that coffee and tea act as one also. This is mainly the effect of caffeine. I did miss the joke though. When it comes to fitness and health I am so serious. (I'm a personal trainer). No harm though. Thanks Paul for filling me in on my lack of humor :)

I apologize that some may have taken this joke as serious. I thought that the source of the information would have made it obvious but maybe Garirson Keeler is not as well known as I thought.

I thought it was funny when Keeler told it but I missed the first part. I made to listen again Sunday (our station repeats at noon) just to get it again. But I think I'm the only one at work that listens to Prairie Home Companion. Ed snipped-for-privacy@snet.net
