Budweiser, a conclusion

They had Frankenheim for a few weeks at the San Diego Brewery about 9 months ago. I had the last glass the last night they had it. Haven't seen it anywhere else, nor in bottles anywhere. In fact, there is currently no German Alt to be found in SD, at least that I have uncovered.

You believe correctly: SABMiller is number 2, behind Anheuser-Busch.

The answer is best represented by zero, which is the number of German breweries SABMiller owns at present. Interbrew has been buying 'em (most recent acquisition being Nuernberg's Tucher), and Heineken has ownership participation in Paulaner/Hacker-Pschorr, and Holsten has made no secret that it is up for grabs with Anheuser-Busch being a likely candidate, but for now, SABMiller is precariously clinging to place number two in the world ranking of breweries.
