I have been making wine for several years and have started to buy and collect some wines that will age a bit more. I just found this group and have been reading the posts with interest.

Are most of the posters from the USA or Europe? (I'm from Canada) I'm afraid I do not recognize most of the wines mentioned and am wondering if they are not readily available here or (embarrassed) maybe I should start sticking my head in the vintage section of our liquor stores more often. Please help clue me in so I can continue to enjoy this news group.

Please ignore if this post duplicates itself.

I've been making wine for several years and have started to buy some wines to keep in my cellar for further aging. I have been reading with interest the posts for a week or so and have been puzzled by something.

I do not recognize most of the wines mentioned. Is this because:

a) I from Canada and many of these wines are not as readily available?

b) These wines are in our Liquor stores but I'm shopping in the wrong sections. I should be in the vintage section. (embarrassed ;-)

c) none of the above

TIA

Thanks Al, this is definitely a good place to start. My wife buys me wine so if I add this site to her favorites, then maybe she'll get the hint.

PS I was born and raised in Kitchener. What a coincidence.

Best wishes

Hi Larry, AFW is a newsgroup where you'll find good information on all kinds of wine, from good everyday wines to those wines that can make a big dent in your "pocketbook". A very International group with posters from North America, Europe, Australia, etc. I hope you enjoy the group as much as I do. Welcome!

Dick
