Ponzi

Not the scheme, I'm talking about a bottle of 06 PN from Willamette Valley that I ordered in Springdale UT (at the Spotted Dog restaurant). I found it very good, even better when I finished the second half of the bottle 24 hours later. Went well with the relatively spicy food of the area. Nothing like any Burgundy I know, nor like any German or Alsace PN, but I kept on wanting more.

Anyone know about this wine?

Had some good meals in LV at Picasso and Cirque. More about that late, right now I gotta get outta this crazyplace. Next stop LA till Thursday.

cheers

Mike, I haven't had the wine in question but I have had Ponzi's wines in the past. They operate a great bistro/wine bar in the town of Dundee in the Willamette Valley which is a must stop for us when in town. I've never been overly impressed with the Ponzi Pinot Noirs, finding them a bit more extracted and heavy than is my preference for the Willamette Valley. 2006 was also a fairly hot year there, so I'd expect a bigger wine.
