Hard to argue very hard with the demotions.
I received a press release from the Syndicat Viticole de St-Émilion where they count 11 demotions, stating that Curé-Bon was partly integrated into Canon - but they obviously forgot to mention La Clusière.
Right in this second they answered: La Clusière has been integrated into Pavie.

I don't see Ch. Trimoulet on the list, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. I take it it's not a GCC, but where then do I rank it? With the demoteds?

Grand Cru's earn their stripes every year by passing the various tests to be granted the year to year status. they are not classified but have to pass through several testings from vintning to racking to bottling. Only if they typify Grand Cru St. Emilion at each stage are they allowed to be bottled as such. (or something damn close to what I just said )
In one sense yes - beacuae all those dmoted will now have to apply in successive years after the vintage to obtain the necessary certificates to describe their wine of that vintage as Grand Cru. The wine is tasted by a committee which includes growers, oenologists and the trade to ensure that it is true to the Saint Emilion character and has the capacity to age. In the other sense that it has not bee demoted the answer tothe question is no. Trimoulet has not been a Grand Cru Classe - at least in the last three classifications and, form memory, I don't think it ever has been.
