Winter kill

Jun 06, 2005 3 Replies

By the way, my 2nd year grafted Vinifera vines suffered dearly from the winter cold. Pretty much 100% die-back to the graft. Only lost one out of 34 though. Just offering up the info. Ken

Hi:

Where are you and how cold did it get?

Thanks,

Steve Noobie Oregon

I'm in NE Ohio, and it hit about 5 below a couple of times. I could probably google for that info. Ken

Ken,

Just wondering if your sure that what is growing now isn't root stock and not the scicon?????? If the vines were killed all the way to the graft , are you using "suckers" from the ground or just above the ground????? Just making sure.

Bob
