So Junker is a bit like Edelzwicker in Alsace? Blend that's

The first and foremost quality of "Junker" wines is not the fact that it's a blend (it ften is, but needn't to be one), but the fact that it's Styria's answer to Beaujolais Nouveau, Novello etc., released in the middle of November and definitely not meant to age.

That's a gamble only because of the plastic stoppers. It's no gamble at all with screwcaps.

Right you are. In fact there is no need at all to have reds that early, and over here the Beaujolais Nouveau fashion is outdated since at least 20 years. I can't even remember when I last saw an ad "Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!" in a restaurant.
