Surprisingly I reserved one week earlier no problem. Mind you it was friday lunch during a long weekend.

On the sametrip I would next include Carme Ruscalleda, apparently on the same level, pure emotion!

Great place, and you did the right thing: asking for wines by the glass. "Pitu" (nobody calls him Carles, but Pitu) Roca is a wine geek and he even has a import company for German wines (with an impressive range).

Now, the real treat at Can Roca is to go in a party of 8 or 12 people and ask him to go deep in his cellar and open one wine for each dish. Even top wines are not that expensive in Can Roca and the markup would be less that the typical markup of a french bistrot.

Perhaps we should organise an alt.food.wine get-together there. Anyone?

Actually the sommelier we had was not a Roca...

Can we do Carme Ruscalleda on the same weekend? I'm in...

Cierto!!! the name of Pitu is "Josep" ;-) I stand corrected.

Sounds tempting. Now we only need 8 or 9 people more ;-)

All the best,
